Theodore Seuss Geisel ( Dr. Seuss ) was born on March, Second, 1904 in Springfield Massachusetts. He was a very well known children's book writer and during World War II he wrote political cartoons against the war. His most famous book he ever wrote was " The Cat in the Hat." Today his illustrations are found in a lot of big art museums next to the work of Warhol, Rembrandt, and Picasso. On June, Twenty-First, 1968 he got married to Audrey, and she brought stability into his life. He has achieved many honors in his life; he has received an Oscar, two Emmys, a Pulitzer, a Peabody, and a New York Library Literary Lion. Three of his books also received a Caldecott Honor Award. Some of his books have been turned into famous movies, for example the movie " How the Grinch Stole Christmas " was based off of his book " How the Grinch Stole Christmas." Theodore died on September, Twenty-Fourth, 1991 at the age of Eighty-Seven.
